Website Content Audits

Get an action plan to help your website attract, serenade, and convert.

Know your website needs work, but don’t know where to start?

You’ve invested everything to create the website or blog you’ve envisioned. You have a service everyone is gonna love or knowledge you’re busting to share with the world, and you have a warm, welcoming digital home for all that goodness. This platform is fundamental to your brand.

But hardly anyone is crossing the threshold. And those who do aren’t making themselves known.

It sucks when the website you’ve poured your heart into just isn’t pulling the crowd you expected. So let’s figure out why your website isn’t performing the way it should.

Book a website content audit and get a straightforward plan that tells you exactly what changes your website needs to make it a mecca for the people you serve.

What does a website content audit involve?

Submit your website and any questions you have. I’ll send you a detailed PDF, spreadsheet checklist, and video walkthrough, providing in-depth feedback and advice to make your website shine.

Here are some of the things you may learn from my audit:

✓     How your website is performing on search engines and what you can do to boost search engine optimisation (SEO).

✓     How generative AI tools are talking about your brand and what you can do on your website to drive the conversation.

✓     How you can position yourself as a true leader in your industry and build trust with the people who visit your website.

✓     Where there are sticky points in the path to conversion, and how to clear any obstacles.

✓     How your brand voice and messaging stack up against the competition and what you can do to stand out.

The focus:

  • Improve visibility: We can ensure that every website page has all the bits it needs to attract Google and ChatGPT’s attention.
  • Increase audience engagement: We can identify the content that gets visitors to your website excited and look for opportunities to make that content even better.
  • Improve your conversion rate: We can identify the weak spots on your website where people might be losing interest or remain unconvinced, and create content to address any hesitations.

Still have questions?

Conducting a website content audit can be a time-consuming task, which is why you may be well overdue for one. There are more important things to do, right? Even if you do manage to analyse your website content, you may not even know what you’re looking for or have the time to do it justice.

Tedious as they may be, content audits are essential for your brand. A poorly written and designed website can really hold you back online. Google and AI tools can have a hard time understanding what you’re all about — and so do the humans who find you.

So, what will a content audit help you achieve?

They help you identify your existing assets, marking out what can be removed, updated, or improved. They can give you ideas for future content marketing. My audits give you the tools to refurbish your brand’s home the way you always wanted and your visitors always expected. A competent, enjoyable website that builds trust and authority, ultimately leading to more leads and purchases.

Did I say tedious? Not so for me. I get an almost perverse thrill out of combing through your website and suggesting improvements.

Everybody conducts and presents content audits for websites a little differently. I like to start with a look at your website without any other influences.

This part of the process involves ample amounts of tea and a lot of clicking on links to see where they go. Sometimes this is enough for me to identify some of the most important sticky points on your website.

Next, I’ll look at your analytics tools (if you grant access to them!) and competitor websites, identifying gaps and opportunities.

I’ll create an inventory of your website content, determining which content is great, which needs improvements, which can be repurposed, and which has overstayed its welcome.

Once I’ve built out this spreadsheet, I’ll interpret everything I’ve found into a simple PDF overview that gives you a current health snapshot of your website. You’ll also have a checklist you can tick off as you complete the recommended tasks (yep, I get SPECIFIC!).

To make things even simpler, I’ll also record a video overview that explains any technical jargon and highlights the most interesting findings. Although I try to keep things as simple as possible, you’ll also have a week to email me with any further questions.

I look at a range of things when I conduct my web content audits, including your brand tone, word counts on pages, images, internal linking, keyword variation, readability, and shareability. I may:

  • Recommend you add or change some content to ensure every page adheres to SEO (search engine optimisation) and GEO (generative engine optimisation) best practice and remove any deadweight.
  • Provide some design recommendations to make the content more eye-catching.
  • Provide specific advice to help you delve deeper into your target audience to better understand their needs and how you can communicate that you’re the right fit.
  • Make sure your images can also be easily ‘read’ by Google and AI tools to give you another avenue for discovery.
  • Give heading and formatting recommendations to improve the scannability of your copy.
  • Identify gaps in the content that will help you build trust and authority, such as social proof or blog posts.
  • Point out any broken links and 404 errors so that you can ensure your audience enjoys a seamless journey through your website.

Design is half the equation when it comes to creating converting content. Having fabulous words without the visuals to match is like serving up an expensive tea in a chipped and dirty mug.

In my 11+ years of copywriting, I’ve learned a thing or two about design and will provide general advice about the visual look of your pages. Just remember, these are my own recommendations: I’m not a website or graphic design expert.

Yes! Once you’ve received the web copy audit, you’ll have 7 days (5 business days) to email me with any questions you may have.

You may cancel your Copy Review within 24 hours of booking. As long as I have not already begun the audit, I will issue a full refund. Please email me at hello@amandajanecopy.com if you wish to do so.
