90-DAY CONTENT COMPASS

Quarterly copywriting support that adapts flexibly to your emerging copywriting needs.

Psst! There’s a better way to work together —

Copywriting, consulting, and coaching designed entirely around your needs.

Welcome to the 90-Day Content Compass

Where I spend one financial quarter in your corner working only on the things you need.

You’ve got ALL the ideas. And they just keep coming in thick and fast. But you find yourself bouncing from one thought to the next, never fully executing one complete strategy — and never fully knowing whether you’re channelling your valuable energy in the right direction.

YOU are the dream-weaver. The changemaker. The trailblazer.

I am the one who focuses on the details to ground your big-picture thinking.

We start with gentle grounding, focusing only on the next financial quarter. We’ll look at the brilliance inside your head — all the knowledge and ideas you’re dying to impart.

And we’ll find and polish those gems, helping you go from intention to action. From clutter and chaos to clear, intentional strategy, supported with carefully crafted copy.

But your investment only covers the time I spend on your brand, which means you have more control than you’ll ever get from a copywriting package.

Website copywriting packages are way too square to fit into your curvy copywriting needs.

I charge an hourly rate so that we can cut the back-and-forth, get to straight work (adios proposals!), and collaborate in a way that best suits you, your business, and your budget.

Ad hoc projects are welcome.

Pour yourself a steaming mug of tea! You’ve finally found a professional copywriter who tailors her projects around you and your needs (not the other way around).

No more costly copywriting packages with a load of things you don’t need. No more trying to squeeze your copywriting enquiry into a list of predefined inclusions.

Your ad hoc jumble of copy requests is welcome here.

It is totally fine to ask me to write a website page, edit and provide feedback on that blog post you wrote, and jump on a strategy call with you all in the same breath.

We can work fluidly on whatever you need at any given time within the 90-day timeframe. That might be an email one week and a major cornerstone content piece the next.

No request is “outside the scope of work”.

With hourly copywriting rates, there’s no such thing as scope of work! You’ll never have to worry if you’re asking for too much, as long as it’s aligned with your strategy.

We can change and adapt our work together as we go so you’re always getting exactly what you need.

Adjust how much support you need.

You can decide how much you want to be involved. You can give me full creative control to take charge of your website and bring it up to scratch. Or I can help guide your content strategy and provide feedback as you write the copy.

Here are just a few of the ways we can work together:

  • You can write the copy and hand it to me for feedback and editing.
  • You can provide the research material for me to work into the copy you need.
  • You can leave me to write the whole shebang.

It’s entirely up to you.

Tailor the work to your budget.

With hourly rates, you pay what you can afford. Set your maximum budget before we begin and I’ll let you know if we’re approaching it (read about estimated project timeframes here).

You can choose whether you’d like me to complete the project or whether you’d like to finalise the work we’ve done together on your own.

Choose your investment

My 90-day Content Compass starts with as little as A$600 per month. That’s A$1800 in total for 5 hours of my time per month.

You are welcome to select more hours so that we can achieve more in our time together — in fact, most of my clients prefer to book at least 10 hours a month (A$1200) so that we can create more content together.

After our first project, we may be able to switch to a more flexible arrangement. But the only way to guarantee a spot on my calendar (particularly for big projects) is to book the 90-Day Content Compass.

Am I your cup of tea?

Copywriting consulting + website copy editing

“Amanda was nothing but a dream to work with from the very beginning. Her expertise was proven time and time again as she delivered the most eloquent, yet super on brand words for my business. Reading back on the copy she wrote for me, it was like she was in my head! She’s not only professional and such a leader in her field, she’s also just such a kind human and it was nothing but a pleasure to work with her.”

Blog + website copywriting

“Blown Away! I looked at her copy and thought “this is sooo good we’re done”. I couldn’t think of a single change I wanted to make. It was amazing! The effort AJ put into the copy was outstanding. She just nailed what we’re all about straight away. AJ’s copy skills are next level and it was such a seamless process. The best decision for my business by far!”

Brand story + messaging strategy + website copywriting

“Amanda was able to create a brand storybook and voice for our company which the team are proud and excited about. We had tried other copywriters before but Amanda is in a league of her own with her style and ability to digest complex topics and make them fun and informative for the reader. We look forward to working with Amanda for more projects!”

Brand story + messaging strategy + website copywriting

“Amanda is truly a pleasure to work with. We went to her feeling confused and overwhelmed and she helped us clearly craft our voice. This alongside with her amazing copy has given us a lot of clarity in our business! Amanda’s website copy and brand storybook was wonderful and has helped us truly understand how we want to position ourselves!”

Content strategy + website + blog copywriting

“Amanda has transformed my business website copy. She magically transformed my ramblings into succinct, client focussed copy. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Amanda was super easy to work with and delivered more than I expected. I shall be using her wordsmith services again and singing her praises to all I know!”

Blog copy editing + optimising

“What a wonder AJ is to work with. AJ helped update a few of our blogs and not only did she offer a prompt, easy and professional service, she ensured that she explained every change she made so I could learn from her too, what a legend! I can’t wait to see the impact the changes have made to our SEO and our visibility online and look forward to working together in the future.”

Copy editing

“Amanda is one of those rare and special people who exceed your expectations and over-delivers beyond any expectations you may have … To top it off, while she is obviously hugely professional, Amanda is so much fun and simply a joy to work with. This is someone I would definitely not hesitate to recommend to anyone/everyone who needs any of her services.”

Cornerstone content writing

“AJ is the best. Easy to work with and great at teasing out the details. But most of all she is unmatched in her ability to produce content that is engaging on brand and delivers results.”

The part where you’re all in.

I’m blessed with repeat clients, which means I have limited availability throughout the year. The lead time for a new project (that is, how long it takes before we can start working together) can be a few months.

But sometimes cancellations and roadblocks occur. When they do, I pounce on my waitlist — the list you’ll be added to if you fill out this form.

Please pour yourself a green tea and answer the questions with as much detail as possible. It helps me gauge whether I’m right for you (if I’m not, I’ll email you my best copywriter recommendations). And it means we can hit the ground running if a space opens up.

Got questions? Read the FAQs.

FAQs

The first step is to reach out. When I have availability, I’ll reach out to see if you’re ready to start working together. If necessary, we’ll book a Zoom call to discuss the work further.

Once you’ve signed the Service Agreement and paid the invoice, your work will be booked in. I may send you an in-depth Q+A to allow me to capture your brand perfectly and we’ll probably jump on a Deep Dive Zoom call to kick things off. Then … we get to work!

I will track my hours in my CRM software as we go, letting you know how long each task takes and how much time you have left each month. Depending on my availability, I may be able to pull forward hours from months 2 and 3 into the first month. But unused hours will not roll over into the next month.

Nope. And here’s why:

1. VIP Days give the wrong idea about copywriting

High quality copywriting comes from extensive research and strategy. Copywriters need time to gather audience, topic, and keyword research. We need to analyse data and competitors. We may need to experiment with brand voice before we write the strategic copy.

The best copywriting happens when it’s collaborative, giving you (the client) time to sit with the words and figure out what works and what doesn’t. Not to mention, editing is always done best with a fresh eye.

2. We all have off days — I’d rather not bill you or deliver subpar work if that happens.

The human mind spends almost 50% of the day wandering away from the task at hand. And that might be on a good day.

Sometimes, the inspiration won’t come. Sometimes, energy is low or distractions assault us.

Rather than force it (and produce potentially subpar work in the process), I prefer to walk away from the laptop and do other things when the focus doesn’t come. And you can’t do that when you’ve promised a mountain of work in a day.

3. Creative magic works best when you give it time

Research tells us our brains work best when they can toggle between focused and unfocused modes.

We need time to focus and to daydream.

Daydreaming triggers a ‘default network mode’ in the brain that enhances creativity, improves decision making, and nurtures outside-the-box thinking.

The productive focused mode thrives off the fruits of daydreaming.

When I schedule your project, I allow time for daydreaming and off days in the project timeframe.

It might only take me 8 hours to create your content. But it will be 8, highly focused, highly optimised hours. But I will never force 6, 7, or 8 highly-focused hours into a single day.

P.S. I only bill you for the focused time. That moment where I hit the ‘eureka’ idea for your brand voice while I’m walking along the beach or hanging out the washing? That’s on the house.

Costs can be estimated before a project but not guaranteed. Quality and strategy are both supremely important in
copywriting: I do not rush any job.

But to provide some transparency, here’s a breakdown of the average length of time it takes me to complete various projects.

Please take these estimates with a grain of salt. If you’ve already done the groundwork, it may take me less time to complete a task. If it’s a particularly tricky or important bit of copy that requires a lot of strategy or research, it could take longer. But I will always let you know if it might take longer than expected.

If you engage me in a copywriting mentor capacity, our work together will depend upon the degree of support required. If you’re just starting out and you’re not familiar with copywriting, a page or blog post may require several rounds of recorded video feedback and editing, so it may take us 2–3 hours to complete. But as you work with me, you’ll improve with each page or post and the time taken for edits usually speeds up!

Audience research and brand messaging: 5–6 hours

Brand story: 6–8 hours

Website page: 4–5 hours

1000+ word blog post: 3–6 hours

Blog post updates + optimisation: 1–2.5 hours

Email copy: 1–2.5 hours

Cornerstone content piece: Varies greatly depending on the topic and amount of research required. This 5,000-word piece took me roughly 12 hours. Detailed background info was provided. Meanwhile, this 3,500-word piece took 25 hours as it required in-depth research across 40+ products.

When you buy a block of hours, they will be valid until the project deadline listed in your Service Agreement (usually the end of the month). I’ve put aside the time in my schedule and turned away other paying clients so no refunds are issued if work is roadblocked on your end. We generally agree upon a monthly block of hours; unused hours will not roll over beyond the deadline.

The best way to avoid missing out is to provide everything ahead of time so I can work autonomously:

  • Provide all important materials before work is scheduled to begin.
  • Fill out the brief with plenty of detail ahead of the work start date.
  • Have a list of priorities you’d like us to accomplish together so I can easily move from one task to the next without waiting for approval or direction.
  • Provide any feedback on the work as soon as possible.

If the work isn’t completed by the due date due to a (rare!) holdup on my end, I’ll continue the work at my earliest convenience or issue a refund if the delay doesn’t work for you.

It depends.

If it’s a small project — an editing job or just a few paragraphs of copywriting — I may be able to squeeze it in at the last minute. A rush rate of 25% applies to projects with a deadline within 48 hours.

Big projects — things like brand messaging, website copywriting, or a major cornerstone piece — take time. It may be a few weeks, if not months, before I can begin work on them so you’ll need to think ahead and submit your enquiry with a generous deadline in mind.

I understand. Sometimes you need a fixed quote or a proposal to lock in a government grant or present to your boss. Check out my website copywriting and blog copywriting services to learn more.

When I sit down to start work on your brand, I start the Dubsado Time Tracker. I’ll stop it as soon as complete the project or I run out of steam (slash tea: it’s basically the same thing).

You’ll be regularly updated on how we’re going for time. If you’ve bought a block of hours, I’ll use the same tracker until we hit the number of hours purchased. If we’ve agreed to an end-of-month invoice for work completed, I’ll round up each project to the nearest 15 minutes.

Billable time includes all meetings, strategy, background research, and asset delivery.

Anything’s possible! The whole point of this service is to work flexibly within your needs. If you have a campaign coming up and you need content stat, you’re welcome to book a block of hours within a shorter timeframe, as long as I have the capability. Reach out for a chat and I’ll see what we can do!

Absolutely! In fact, I find it the best (and my favourite) way to work with my clients. A retainer allows us to go deeper, review the strategy we implemented in the preceding quarter, and adjust the copy or messaging as needed. We can also focus on new goals, craft new copy, and be entirely responsive to your needs.
